Many
times throughout the year we get requests from customers
wanting to have new glass created based on an original design
in their home. One of our trade clients recently asked us
to create this basic leaded fanlight design in a modern day
double glazed unit and it had to look as old and traditional
as
possible.
We explained to the client that there are several ways in
which we could create a new piece of glass and make it look
old and traditional using our modern materials and the best
way forward would be to make one sample piece for the client
to view. We visited the house as it was local to the studio
and we took this photo to work with. As the whole of the
design is created using obscure glass, we used 3 different
types of textures from this
page and all of the joints in
the leadwork were soldered and aged Option
4.
The client viewed the sample copy of their design and absolutely
loved it. The full order was then placed for 5 bay window fanlights
to be supplied
to
our trade client and below is the completed window with the
glass created and supplied by the Leadbitter Glass studio.
