This decorative glass design was originally made by another company and the window was not manufactured using toughened glass. A few years later the window was broken and the clients approached us to copy the original design. We created this Kingfisher glass using toughened 4mm glass and added Pilkington K energy saving glass to the back of the sealed unit. If you look closely you will see that all of the detailed leadwork has been soldered and the outer leadwork has not been soldered. It was created like this to match the old broken unit.

This type of design was very popular in the 1990's but as years have gone by fashions have changed and we don't get many requests for birds and animals etc. To see some more bird designs in our gallery visit our Stained Glass Birds gallery.
